The Nettle Creek Community Coalition serves as a vital lifeline for the Hagerstown community, rooted in the belief that every neighbor deserves access to life’s most basic essentials with dignity and ease. As a dedicated nonprofit, we have built a comprehensive support system that goes far beyond the traditional food pantry. We provide our neighbors with a full spectrum of nutritional support, ranging from shelf-stable staples to fresh produce, meats, dairy, and bread, ensuring that healthy, high-quality food is a reality for every household we serve.
Our commitment to community wellness extends into the home through our expansive Personal Care Pantry. We recognize that items often overlooked—such as laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, and feminine hygiene products—are fundamental to a person’s well-being. From oral care and vitamins to pet care and even makeup, we strive to provide the daily necessities that allow our neighbors to feel confident and cared for. This holistic approach ensures that a tight budget never stands in the way of health, hygiene, or household stability.
The strength of the NCCC lies in our deep-rooted partnerships. By collaborating with organizations like A Better Way, the Wayne County Resource Center, Firefly, the Hagerstown Library, and the Senior Center, we create a robust network of care that spans the entire region. Our most profound investment, however, is in the future of Hagerstown. Working alongside Nettle Creek Schools, we lead essential youth initiatives, most notably our Back to School program, which equips students with the tools they need to succeed, and our annual Christmas program, which ensures every family can experience the joy of the holidays. At NCCC, we are more than a service provider; we are a grassroots coalition dedicated to nourishing our community and empowering the next generation.
